Vivian Vande Velde

A decent YA vampire novella that is again a quick and easy read. Two stars because while I enjoyed it, it isn't something I will reread again.
Teenager Kerry is sent on a mission to the neighbourhood laundromaut by her little brother who has forgotten his teddy bear there earlier. Once Kerry gets there, she witnesses a group of men, including the laundromat owner, beating up a young "man" named Ethan. They accuse him of being a vampire and look to extract a confession before killing him. Upon seeing Kerry there, they believe her to be his vampire accomplice while she just thinks this is all crazy. Well, not so crazy as it turns out Ethan is a vampire.
The rest of the novella follows Kerry and Ethan as they face off against obsessive vampire hunters who have taken Kerry's family hostage. The one thing that made the story memorable, for me, is the ending choice Kerry makes.
