So Shay finally paid Tally back for stealing her boyfriend and turning her pretty against her will. She made Tally a special, which ripped her away from Zane. Zane, who is still ailing after the botched up antidote scandal, still loves Tally even if they are both changed and weird. She still loves him too and still does not trust Shay's side is the right side.
Not really a big fan of this book. It was great, until the ending
when ZANE DIED AND TALLY WENT OFF WITH DAVID!!!!!!!!! AND PRETTYDOM FELL!!!!!!!!!
<-- that was a MAJOR SPOILER, please don't look at it unless you've finished the book. It was an adequate ending and really, I don't think the author had that many choices on how to end the trilogy. The only other way to end it would be to have absolutely nothing change and have the rebels lose, which would've made every reader angry i think, myself included!
, so appropriate ending, even if I don't agree with it necessarily.
Scott Westerfeld has also written an additional 4th book set in this Pretties/Uglies universe called Extras, which I have not read and have no interest in really reading. It seems to focus on other kids, in another town and looks like a stand-alone book.
