Vampire Kisses

Ellen Schreiber

For starters, many people will probably hate this book. It's very, very Young Adult. But I don't care because I love it. It's a simple, easy to read, short vampire novella that does seem to have a positive message for young girls. It's just the thing to read when you're in between heavy dramas and are looking for a way to lighten up.

That being said, this first book starts off in the boring town of Dullsville, where our main character, Raven, lives. She's the outcast in town for being "goth" (total hot topic chickie). She's certain there are real vampires around and she's determined to find one. Destiny, it seems, is on her side because on her way home from trick-or-treating one halloween night, she runs into the new neighbours in town. Rumours are rampid that these new neighbours are actually vampires and Raven goes all out trying to see if it's true.

Throw into the mix a best friend, a mortal enemy who actually has the hots for Raven (and vice-versa) and you've got a great breezy read in an hour or less.

If you liked this book, be sure to follow up with it's sequel, Kissing Coffins.
